 Hi Folks

This morning (16th April 2022) from 10am there is a Coffee Morning at Christ Church in Aid of Ukraine.  Do support it if you can.

Flag of Ukraine. 2 Colour horizontal blocks, Blue above, Yellow below.

Tomorrow morning is Easter Sunday and there are plenty of services and activities for all!

The Easter Pebble Dash is for any family with young children to search the local parks for specially decorated pebbles and then exchange them for easter Eggs (a map will be available on the Prestatyn Church in Wales facebook page from midnight).  It is totally free, so do encourage people to get hunting for those pebbles!

Christ Church is now open from Monday to Saturday 10am - 3pm for private prayer, and at present there are some more creative ways to pray on offer.

It would be wonderful to see you this weekend.  I hope you have a wonderful Easter!

Easter Events...

Easter Events for Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th April 2022...

Do come to our Spring Fair - we could all do with an extra spring in our step! Friday 8th and Saturday 9th April, Christ Church should be bustling. Come for a cuppa, come for a new (old) book, come for some fun on the tombola, come and admire the craft stall. Do come and enjoy a pleasant chat in good company and for a great cause - our 'A Warm Welcome' Appeal (for the bells and boiler). Also come and find out about our Pebble Dash and other special activities leading up to Easter. Don't forget now, we hope to see you there!

This Sunday is Palm Sunday when we shall remember Jesus riding on a donkey as he entered Jerusalem for the last time, and the people welcoming him as their Messiah, by shouting "Hosanna" and waving palm branches.  Do come along to the Church of the Holy Spirit at 9.30am for Morning Prayer, or to Christ Church at 10.45am for Holy Communion and you can receive a palm cross in celebration of those events and of all that they still mean to us today.

Just One Service Today...

Just One Service Today...

Hi Folks

TODAY is the Fifth Sunday of the Month and there will be just ONE SHARED SERVICE at the CHURCH OF THE HOLY SPIRIT at 10AM, so there is no service at Christ Church! This will be an informal Morning Prayer and there will be a special speaker: Gerri Bayley from the local charity, Chernobyl Children, which CHS has started supporting.

Social Distancing indoors has recently been relaxed, however there will be the options of staying 2 metres apart or choosing less (as space allows). Other Covid careful measures still apply and you are encouraged to take a Lateral Flow Test, to try to make sure you are clear, before you attend. Even so All are Very Welcome!

There is hoped to be another Joint Service of Prestatyn Church in Wales in May.

Watch this space for news of 2022 online devotional resources coming soon.

God Bless You,

David

A WARM WELCOME! THE BELLS & BOILER APPEAL FOR CHRIST CHURCH PRESTATYN!

A WARM WELCOME!
THE BELLS & BOILER APPEAL FOR CHRIST CHURCH PRESTATYN!

Multi Colour Text reads: "A Warm Welcome. The Bells & Boiler Appeal For Christ Church Prestatyn
Please Click the image to transport you safely to our JustGiving Campaign Page.

Ladies & Gentlemen... We desperately need your help please.

"After years of makeshift repairs, the boilers for the heating at Christ Church have finally broken and become obsolete, leaving the building often colder inside than out.

The bells that used to play such beautiful tunes heard throughout Prestatyn High Street  on the quarter hour and hour have been silenced because the electronic circuit board no longer works and needs replacing.

Damp issues that are inevitable with an old stone building have caused plaster and paint to have pealed in various places. Updating signs that would direct and inform visitors would also help us.

We would so love to improve all of these and offer a warm and welcoming building for all to enjoy on those school, civic and family occasions as well as concerts, plays and the usual church services.

We estimate that £30,000 will be needed to realistically tackle these things and the congregation have wonderfully donated £5,000 (on top of their regular giving towards the ongoing costs of ministry, insurance, lighting etc - an eye watering £60,000 per annum). We are now appealing for community support to help bring this building back up to a good standard, so that it might be enjoyed and used more fully once more.

Can you help us?"

For more information on our campaign, please visit our JustGiving page. We will keep updating you on Facebook, our website and hopefully on Youtube. The more people who can support our church in this crisis, the better our chances of achieving what is needed to support our community.

Christ Church plays a vital part in the lives of the people of Prestatyn, We believe that Prestatyn is a family and that we, as a church, are there whenever needed. Christ Church is a unique church in that it is a peaceful sanctuary, a place of worship, a place of inspiration and beauty, a corner stone of our community and so much more.

Whether we hold concerts and performances, Weddings, Baptisms, Church Services or Funerals, Christ Church is at the heart of our community and we will always be there.

If you believe you can help us or support us. Please click on the image above or visit our page HERE.

Our story can also be found on Rhyl Journal.

Our church features a number of gifted musicians including organists, pianists, etc, as well as a beautiful and heart warming choir.

Some News & The 2022 Church In Wales Liturgical Calendar...

Some News & The 2022 Church In Wales Liturgical Calendar...

 Hi Folks.

Sorry it has been a little quiet of late. Betwee the Vicar needing some time off and myself needing a rest also. now is time to catch up on things for the new year.

With regards to our lack of online services after 26th December, between the Vicar needing a well deserved rest and how churches are now looking at the use of online content as live services are already happening, we're looking at how we can still provide certain support, but it won't be as frequent. More to come on that soon.

An update regarding the online calendar for our website, the below entries are added, plus live services times for both Christ Church and Church of the Holy Spirit have been included. The online Sunday Service entry has been removed for the moment, but the beauty of a LIVE calendar is instant updates.

This website has had to undergo a re-structure and design due to a security issue, but with that, things are hopefully ok.

So, here is this year's 2022 Church In Wales Liturgical Calendar.

Our Online Service for Sunday 26th December 2021. Our Christmas Service. Our Theme: “Hype To Hope."

Our Online Service for Sunday 26th December 2021.
Our Christmas Service.
Our Theme: “Hype To Hope."

 Hi Folks

A Huge Thank You to all of you who attended the live services during Advent, including the 'Carols & Crafts', 'Nine Lessons and Carols', 'Crib Service', 'Christmas Eve Communions' and the Christmas Morning 'All Age Celebration' and for all your support in keeping everything that we were still allowed to do, happening this year.

We're now well and truly into those 'Twelve Days of Christmas' and I'm taking a break, but you can find a little Christmas Devotional on Facebook or YouTube (Prestatyn Church in Wales).

The next Live Services will be on 2nd January: Celebrating Epiphany
9.30am Church of the Holy Spirit - Holy Communion
10.45am Christ Church - Morning Prayer (in the Parish Community Hall)
We now have to re-impose the 2 metre social distancing regulation, which does limit our capacity again, so do arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Wednesday 5th January is when the 1pm Prayer Time and 7pm 'Home Group' at CHS resume.
Wednesday 12th January will be a Vicar's Hour at 6pm at Christ Church
Wednesday 19th January is when a series of the Faith Café 7.45pm-9pm starts, PCH
*All of course subject to any further changes in the Covid Regulations

We didn't sing it this year, but I do enjoy this particular version of the 'Twelve Days of Christmas': 'The Twelve Hours of Christmas', so do have a go at singing it, or maybe pray it - giving thanks for the various ideas - before Twelfth Night!

At the twelfth hour of Christmas, the world in darkness lay,
Wise men are riding,
dawn's light has broken,
local people dozing,
many sheep are bleating,
with shepherds watching,
all heaven blazing,
angels are singing,
Pe-eace on earth.
For on Christmas Day,
in Bethlehem,
sheltered in a stall,
Our Saviour Jesus is born!

If I haven't recently, then I do hope to catch up with you in 2022.

Keep Safe,
Keep Praying &
Keep Close to Jesus!

God bless you,

David.
